Hereditary Titles | |||

Dominus | Lord / Lady | The highest ranking Noble Rank available in Berhof. The recipient takes an area of land to use as their title along with Lord or Lady. Therefore Lord Peter of Far Gate is correct usage. They are allowed to collect taxes in their domain, but are also expected to provide leadership and defence. | |
Nobile | Lord / Lady | Noble Rank that allows the head of a family to assume the title Lord or Lady – it is the lowest ranking of the Noble titles available in the area. Lady Celia vanArthog is correct usage. | |
Laird | Sir / Ma’am | Non Noble title that confers control over an area of land. Sir Joromi Dexaro of Hall Bridges is correct usage. They are allowed to collect some taxes in their domain, but are also expected to provide leadership and defence. | |
Squire | Yer Honour | Minor title associated with control of a village or similar piece of land. They are allowed to minor collect taxes in their domain, but are also expected to provide leadership and defence. | |
Personal Titles | |||
Commander of Berhof | Sir / Ma’am | The highest knightly rank of the Berhof Order, it is the equivalent of Knight Commander or Knight Bannerette in other honours systems. Recipients can use the title Sir (or Dame), and put the letters CB after their names in formal communications. | |
Knight of Berhof | Sir / Ma’am | The substantive rank of the Berhof Order, it ranks as a normal Knight, Knight Errant or Knight Bachelor. Recipients can use the title Sir (or Dame), and put the letters KB after their names in formal communications. | |
Officer of Berhof | Yer Honour | – The first of the formal ranks of honour, the recipients can put the letters OB after their names in formal communications. It is the equivalent of Squire in other honours systems and members are usually called ‘Yer Honour’ by the people at large.. | |
