Birthday Berhof Places
lakeSpendlowe.jpg Lake Spendlowe is a large lake that seems to dominate Berhof. It is known for its fish, particularly the Spendlowe Banana Fish, an edible yellow carp that reaches 6 to 8 inches long when fully grown. It is also a good source of Eels, Trout, Salmon, Crawfish and fresh water Mussels - as well as Water Fowl, Otters and Beavers.
GannawayKeep.gif Gannaway Keep was disused for years, but has been rebuilt by Seamus the Paladin. It sits on a small (10ft high) artificial hill and there is just enough stone left to rebuild the walls and the gatehouse. Seamus has constructed an outer bailey, surrounded by a palisade, that contains stable for the horses and a barack block for the troops. Seamus, his steward and the household servants live in the keep proper.
The%20Hill.png The Hill, located on the upper reaches of the Lewyn River, is home to Cal the Dwarf and his wife Rhawn., and they are tasked with watching the mountains for signs of Gnoll, Hob-Goblins or Giants. A small contingent of dwarf miners work to straighten out the tunnels and drive new ones, while a small group of gibberlings and their minimal horses have the run of the outer palisaded courtyard. Cal has already carried out a survey and realised that the tunnels come, originally, from a long disused, and played out, copper mine.
LakesideVilla2.gif The Lakeside Villa once belonged to the vonArthog family, when they were the magical guardians of Aldberg Keep. Now it has been returned to one of their own, Marvello vonArthog and his wife Roselana. The fabric of the house has been repaired and now Roeslana is working on the inside. A small tribe of gibberlings live in the caverns under the villa, providing both an alarm system and a labour force to tidy up the underground areas.
marshFarm.gif Marsh Farm on the southern shores of Lake Spendlowe is home to Mulog the Druid and his Giant Frog breeding programme. This simple farm, home to Mulog, Pierre, a small tribe of grippli and three massive lizards is reached via a wooden causeway into the marsh.
Compound.jpg The Retreat is Stonewall's home, upriver from Gannaway close to the mountain line. The Retreat is a fairly standard design military outpost - palisade walls with walkways and corner towers, a stable for up to six horses, a bunk house for the troops and a small 'house' for Stonewall and his staff. However, enemies should bewarse, for Stonewall has recently installed a number of ballistae to deal with any larger interlopers.
Bramblewarren.jpg Bramblewarren has long been a recognised stopping place for caravans coming over the Alderweg pass, with an established camping ground and a small shrine to Desna. Now it serves as the base for the Warden of the East who inhabits a fairly standard design military outpost - palisade walls with walkways and corner towers, a stable for up to six horses, a bunk house for the troops and a small 'house' for the warden and her staff. Fern, the Warden, has recently added a large courtyard that can accommodate caravans securely and a small inn to make their stay more comfortable.
