The Osric Snow thread. To be used for Osric's development though the game.
Once a powerful angel known as an empyreal lord, Sarenrae led the heavenly hosts in the charge against the Rough Beast, Rovagug, and it was she who dealt him the great blow that led to his chaining. Now a goddess in her own right, Sarenrae is kind and loving, a figure of light, guidance, and healing, and has great patience with those who choose to be blind but may one day see. Yet for all her compassion, Sarenrae is also a powerful force against evil, and strikes down the irredeemable without mercy. Her alignment is neutral good, and her portfolio is the healing, honesty, redemption, and sun. Her domains are Fire, Glory, Good, Healing, and Sun, and her favored weapon is the scimitar.
Sarenrae’s faithful are united by a desire to make the world a better place. They believe wholeheartedly in redemption, yet this should not be mistaken for weakness. They are equal parts healers and crusaders, and seek to stand up to evil in all its myriad forms. As a follower of Sarenrae, you may engage in relatively peaceful pursuits such as tending the sick, arbitrating disputes, and rehabilitating criminals, or you might hunt out abominations and bring justice to the unrepentant evildoers. Whatever drives you, the end result should be bringing the light—or sword—of Sarenrae to hearts that have been dark for too long.
When you travel, you can often recognize others of your faith by their dress, as the Keleshite robes of the desert dervishes have become synonymous with the faith in many worshipers’ minds, as have the symbol of a sunburst and the colors of white, red, and gold.
The turreted temple of Sarenrae stands in a relatively sparse area atop Citadel Hill, where it can absorb the sun’s warming, healing light unobstructed. Built of white marble brought to Korvosa at considerable expense, the temple remains the priciest building in the city per square foot (part of the cost of which was footed by the city of Korvosa itself). As a temple dedicated to healing, which doubles as a hospital, it constantly attracts beneficent gifts from wealthy patrons and offerings from the endless crowds swarming around the building.
Commoners in the city love Sarenrae, for she represents the Korvosan quality of honesty (corruption in the government and military is nearly unheard of in Korvosa), to say nothing of her role as the great healer. Lord Valdur Bromathan IV, head of House Bromarthen, is a minor priest of Sarenrae.
In the years of their training acolytes of Sarenrae in Kovosa might have been tasked with ….
- Helping out in the hospital.
- Acting as ‘greeter’ at the shrine in the Pantheon
- Minor parts in temple services
- Temple preparation (Main Temple and Pantheon Shrine)
- Accompany senior cleric on orphanage checks
I discovered last night I made a rather large mistake.
Clerics don't get heavy armour prof. like they did in 3.5.
I can't remember how much I paid for the Banded Mail, but what I would like to do is this.
Swap from the Banded Mail to the Breastplate; and forget the gp difference as a cost for my own stupidity.
I automatically assumed clerics could wear heavy armour. I was surprised to find they couldn't.
Is this okay?
