Larry is a half-elf who has been on of Lamm's Lambs for a long time. However, he was small for his age and his development hadn't been spotted by the crime-lord's minions. When the chance came, he took it with both hands, and helped the party defeat Gaedrun and his thugs.

Larry is clearly descended from Varisian travellers, on his human side, for he has that colouring and elements of those facial features although, even with his eleven heritage, no one would say he was good looking. Mind you, he has got a way with him, and it is easy to see how he might have talked his way out of all sort of things. Indeed that is probably how he managed to stay out of Lamm's thugs way for so long.

Larry is a level 1 bard.

At Level two Larry will take a level of Rogue - making him Bard 1 Rogue 1. This will allow Larry to fulfil the party's original request for a support character, with some charisma, who could open locks.

At Level 3, Larry progresses as a bard and has decided to start learning acting as a new skill and making potions as a profession (well feat really).

He is disappointed that he can't get his head around the way potions work, but he has decided to stick with it until it makes sense (According to PC Gen - a character needs three levels of a spell casting class before they can take brew potion. Therefore I have put the feat 'on hold' and it will become active when Larry moves to L4.

After trying heavier armour, and finding that it slowed him down, Larry settled for some master-work leather and a darkwood buckler.

Larry has just gone to L7 with L5 bard. This means he now sings for +2 bonus :) He has also taken Craft Wondrous Item as a feat. I'll have a run through and see what he might be able to craft cheaply.

These are some of the things i think we can make in house. They are all caster level 5 (or below) and use spells that I think Larry, Kat, Osric and Theo have access to. I haven't checked precise spell lists for Osric and Theo - not have I checked every single spell they have access to, I just picked out a few 'traditional' spells that looked useful. As an extra proviso, the list has been generated semi-automatically and I haven't looked at the precise descriptions of item creation either - so there might be a requirement I have missed. On top of that, I haven't checked the description and what the item does - so there is a chance I will disallow items if I suddenly decide they are inappropriate. These lists are just to give you an idea,, and we still have to pay costs to make the item - so many will still be too expensive. Having said that - I haven't considered all of the spells that Osric and Theo - so some might actually be easier to make than I think.

Ach. I have misunderstood the process of making magical items. Larry can make stuff at any caster level if he can make his skill check. So I need to read through the rules etc again when I can see Larry's sheet (and possibly tweak him slightly) to see what we can and can't make.

These are Items I think Larry can make - however not all of the spells required are available to party members. Some scrolls might be prohibitively expensive, I haven't checked the cost, contents or suitability of items etc …

Larry can also make potions - but the only spell of his own that works is CLW. However, he can work with other casters to make potions of their spells.

He can also make minor alchemical items.

I have just checked the rules on crafting Magical Items - and I had completely misunderstood the process.

Larry can attempt to craft wonderous items of any caster level - so long as we have the money, spells and raw materials available. However, he must make a Spellcraft check with a DC of 5+ The caster lever of the Item. Larry has a Spellcraft of 6 - so by taking 10 he cane create any item upto CL11.

Note however, that there are limits on some items. Larry can only make +1 cloaks, bracers etc because the Caster musty be 3 times the level of the bonus and Larry is a bard 5. He will be able to make +2 items next level. However, it is possible to make +1 items now and upgrade them later.

Some fairly traditional items that Larry can make - although we may need to acquire scrolls at extra cost.

Bracers of Armour +1
These don’t work with armour at all.
500gp, 1 day, Spell = Mage Armour.

Amulet of Natural Armour +1
Cost 1000gp, 2 Day, spell=barkskin.

Cloak of Resistance +1
Cost 500gp, 1 Day, spell = Resistance

Headband of Alluring Charisma +2
Belt of Giant Strength +2
Cost 2000gp, 4 days, Spell Eagle’s Splendour / Bulls Strength
(same costs will apply to wis, int, con & Dex - only the spell will change)

Slippers of Spider Climb
Cost 2400, 5 days, spell=spider climb.

Efficient Quiver
Cost 900, 2 day, Secret Chest.

Handy Haversack
Cost 1000, 2 day, Secret Chest

Bag of Holding
Minor – cost 500gp, 1 day, Secret Chest
Type 1 – Cost 1250gp, 3 days, Secret Chest
Type 2 – Cost 2500gp, 5 days, Secret Chest

Rope of Climbing
Cost 1500, 3 days, Animate Rope.

Sustaining Spoon
Cost 2700, 6 days, Create Food and Water

Pearl of Power
1st – Cost 500gp, 1 day
2nd – Cost 2000gp, 4 days

Larry will take the following items from the Korvosan Guard Armoury

Item Cost

Efficient Quiver 1800

20 Arrows 1
20 Blunt Arrows 2
20 Whistling Arrows 2

15x Javelin 15

MW Short Bow 330
MW Spear (Cold Iron) 304

He will also ask Osric to make his armour +2 (1500gp)
=3 days work

For himself he will make …
Cloak of Resistance +1 (500gp)
Amulet of natural Armour +1 (1000gp)
Agile Alpenstock (1000gp)
=5 Days work.

And then using savings and selling wands - he will make himself a heavy load belt. (cos other wise he is encumbered) (1000 gp)
=2 days work
