Larry could do with some Combat equipment - if he is going to tag along with you.

He is certainly interested in the Leather Armour and the Dagger.

However, dependent on the role you want him to play - he can wear the studded leather and carry the shield. Ups his armour Class, decreases some of his skill rolls.

He can also use the Light Cross Bow - or a short bow if you want to give/buy him one.

Larry is a happy go lucky lad - he will be pleased with what ever hand-me-downs and minor items he is allocated through the course of the game - UNLESS he is excluded or finds he is really getting left behind.

I'll take the +1 shortspear if nobody wants it.
It will give me a magic weapon if I need it.

I have a horrible feeling we will be running into things that need a magical weapon shortly.

Larry would quite like the Studded Leather +1 (Glamered) and is happy with the proposed GP distribution.

Not even the Short Spear +1?? Doesn't it fit in your spiffy quiver? And a magical weapon might be good to keep to hand … (no pun intended ;) )

A short spear will fit into an Efficient Quiver comfotably.
