Everyone

Rights:
1. Everyone has the right a fair trial.
2. Everyone may ‘own’ property.
3. Titles, goods or property will not be forfeit without a court hearing

Responsibilities:
1. Pay taxes
2. Obey the law


The Chivalry

Genteel Titles
• Companion of the Mark (personal)
• Master of Xxxxx – generally reserved for cadet lines and other minor nobility (Hereditary)
• Officer of The Mark – generally reserved for military service (personal)
• Knight of The Mark – generally reserved for military service (personal)

and their immediate families have all the same rights and responsibilities as everyone else, and:-

Rights:
1. The right of appeal to noble courts. (Via their noble sponsor)
2. Minor tax benefits within The Mark. (although players will never see this, because it is subsumed in your Cost of Living payments)

Responsibilities:
1. Remain loyal to The Mark or be stripped of their title
2. Provide support to The Mark in times of conflict (either military or logistic)


Nobles of the Mark

Noble Titles
• Lord Dominus
• Lord
• Baron

and their immediate families have all the same rights and responsibilities as everyone else, the Chivalrics and :- .

Rights:
1. The right of trial by their peers, and have right of appeal to the Lord Mark Warden. This right extends to the Noble’s immediate family.
2. The right to award genteel titles within their own stronghold jurisdiction (note 1)
3. The right to propose a candidate for noble title to the Mark Moot.
4. Beneficial tax rates within The Mark. (although players will never see this, because it is subsumed in your Cost of Living payments)

Responsibilities:
1. Nobles must provide both military and logistic support to The Mark in times of conflict.


Note 1: This only applies to those nobles who have established a stronghold. They can set up a local Chivalric Order and give out similar titles.
