Brevoy

Brevoy is the sponsor nation for colonisation, and good, general description can be found here.

As always, don't be surprised if some minor elements differ in detail from that reported in that general description. You know what rumours and newspapers are like.

The Brevoy System of Nobility.

King - The head of the Rogarvian Family
Duke - Head of the six noble families. Dukes are recognised as Rulers of their own Duchy - they have agreed to take a Rogarvian Overlord, but are responsible for their own laws and management - so long as they don’t go against the King’s wishes.
Count - Almost the equivalent of a Duke - But not sovereign. A Count is given authority over a county, but is subordinate to the king, implements the King’s laws and is the King’s man.
Viscount - Appointed by a Count to help oversee the county. The viscount is the Count’s man – and through that, the King’s man. Often given the responsibility of running a town or area of countryside.
Baron - A title that can be created by a ruler. They owe allegiance to the ruler who gave them the title – either the King or a Duke. Often given the responsibility of running a town or area of countryside.
Lord - Minor Title that must be approved by a Ruler
Dominus - Can be given out by Kings, Dukes, Counts and all sorts.
Master - Recognises ownership of land.
